American Idol Results...Wha?
I am shocked that Adam Lambert was in the bottom 3 this week. I realize he may be a bit theatrical for some people, but the boy has serious chops. He can sing. He can make songs his own. He's a performer.

To entertain you this dreary Monday
15 reasons Mr. Rogers was best neighbor ever
Teaser: #11: He composed all the songs on the show, and over 200 tunes.
The Quick 10: The Origins of 10 of Your Favorite Muppets
Teaser: #3: Telly Monster was originally the Television Monster when he debuted in 1979. He was obsessed with T.V. and his eves would whirl around as if hypnotized whenever he was in front of a set. After a while, producers started worrying about his influence on youngsters, so they changed him to make him the chronic worrier he is now.

20 Days Later
mood: feelin' fine
listening to: a blissfully quiet office free of pesky co-workers
I cannot believe I haven't posted in twenty days. I fear you all have forgotten about me out in here in BlogLand. :P
First, thanks to all of my loved ones for a wonderful birthday. I feel very loved and very fortunate to have such good friends.
Second, meet the newest member of our family, a new, COLOR, digital TV for my kitchen! Thanks to D for hooking a sister up!
Next, please read my review on Foodbuzz about James' new restaurant, Silver & Stone. We went Monday night for my birthday, which also happened to be their first night open for business.
Work: After a bit of personnel drama with NG3 (that's New Girl #3 for those who haven't had to listen to my complaints), things are better and are very busy. We are supposed to move to another building here on campus in the next few weeks, but no news as to when that might happen. The good news is I will have real, actual sunlight! There are windows across from where my new cubicle will be. We currently reside in an office stuck in the middle of one of the buildings - i.e. no sunlight.
Other news: D and I are hosting our first Thanksgiving this year. We've done all of the other major holidays, but not Turkey Day. The menu's already set and guests invited. Thanks so much to Juls for the awesome CD from Fine Cooking on everything D could possibly need to know about cooking the bird. :)
I hope you guys are all doing well, too. I am going to try very hard to catch up on everyone else's blogs this week and be "in the know".

Happy Monday! and The Weekend in Review
I hope everyone had a good weekend! We had a blast this weekend, even though I am *exhausted* from it this morning. :)
Friday - We went to the Common Interest for some good times and kareoke. J and M joined us (what troopers!) and D sang some more of the Man in Black. Thanks to E and S for the good company (and tequila)!
Saturday - The Star Wars Marathon! We got started a little after 8:00am and we were done sometime after 9:00pm. (That's Eps. I-VI in chronological order of the story.) Everyone left around 10:30(?) after watching Family Guy's Blue Harvest. There was a LOT of good food (thanks to J for his mad chef skills on the tasty deer), good company, and a lot of laughs. A and T- I hope we weren't too intense for you. ;)
Sunday - Church was good and we had a bbq following the second service. One of the members of our church even gave us a demo of some of his radio-controlled airplanes...it was very cool. There was a new couple there that we met and it turns out I was in high school choir with his brother...it is a small world! (Ok, G'town to Leander isn't THAT big of a stretch, but it was still cool.) After that it was home to clean the house, do laundry, and try to relax (and watch the Cowboys whoop up on the Browns :-D).
Next weekend - Someone turns the big 3-0! He will be given no mercy about it either! :)
BTW - Am I the only one annoyed that most new TV shows don't start until the end of this month at the earliest? At least Fringe starts tomorrow. :P

Strike Fallout: From the NY Times
Now that the writers' strike is almost over, what's going on with your fave shows? Will the new ones get another chance? Will they just be scrapped? Read on...
The new shows that I was watching in the fall and their fates are below. I am concerned that Journeyman isn't even mentioned. Of the ones mentioned, the only one I am really heartbroken about not coming back is Bionic Woman. Looks like Mom was right...very few of the brand new shows are going to get a fair chance. It does look like Moonlight will be around, though, Mama. :)
Dirty Sexy Money -ABC
- Three episodes remain; airdates are unknown
Fate: Mercury News: “Will be rebooted in the fall”
Pushing Daisies -ABC
- In repeats
Fate: Will likely return in the fall
Cane -CBS
- In repeats; off the schedule
Fate: Unlikely to return
Reaper -CW
- Two or three episodes remain
Fate: Fate is unclear
Bionic Woman -NBC
- In repeats; off the schedule
Fate: Unlikely to return
