You know, the RIAA would love nothing more than for you to pay them for the same album multiple times. They say you don't even own it after you do buy it. :) That said... definitely buy them used. I used to do that all the time, getting most CDs for $5 or so. I am sure you can get them cheaper than that online.
Well nothing is better than a local used CD store, and you can check the CD that way for scratches... but amazon.com has their used section, and I am sure there are other sites that do the same.
