Reason for LJ/blog username: depends as it really has 2 roots; there's an anime series called "El Hazard" who has a Fire Priestess named Shayla Shayla...well, that didn't quite fit, so i abbreviated it to shayla...the other derivative is from a series of books by Irene Radford about a nimbus of dragons; Shayla was the mother dragon
